19 March 2026: The Boots Group, a trusted leader in healthcare, pharmacy and retail, has announced the publication of its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report 2025: “We have health at our heart”.
The Boots Group’s ESG Report is the first it has published since the formation of the company, following the acquisition of Walgreens Boots Alliance by Sycamore Partners in August 2025. It highlights how ESG has been deeply embedded into all businesses across The Boots Group and showcases its continued progress towards supporting better health for people and the planet.
Ornella Barra Chair of the Board of Directors and Chair of the ESG Committee, The Boots Group, said: “Although this is our first ESG Report as The Boots Group, our business has been reporting on our progress for more than 60 years. Our longstanding commitment to supporting better health for people and planet is as strong as ever. Over the last 12 months, our progress has been significant. At the heart of our business is our role as a trusted healthcare partner within communities - supported by 66,000 colleagues in over 3,300 stores, we have delivered over a billion customer and patient interactions. That is why this year’s report is titled ‘We have health at our heart’.”

The full report features ESG milestones for The Boots Group during the financial year ending in August 2025 across its four key ESG Pillars – Healthy Communities, Healthy and Inclusive Workplace, Sustainable Marketplace and a Healthy Planet. Key highlights include:
Boots pharmacies delivered over 1.5 million NHS Pharmacy First consultations, and 497,000+ free Health MOTs to improve access to care and support NHS capacity.
The Boots Group contributed £53 million to support local communities through product and in-kind donations, volunteering and fundraising. This included to charity partners such as Macmillan Cancer Support, Irish Cancer Society, Hygiene Bank and The King’s Trust.
